Even though we have grown, the business understanding, IP skills, and the wish to create true value for our clients are still the cornerstones of Guardian and are values shared by our partners and employees.

Today, we are a team of about 30 experienced IP professionals, of which about half are European Patent Attorneys, several are European Design Attorneys and many are IP Coordinators. We are specialised within a wide range of technical areas such as Chemistry, Biotechnology, Pharmaceuticals, Food Science, Mechanics, Electronics, Physics, Software and more.

We know what it is like to work outside the consulting world, and most our patent attorneys have previous experience as corporate R&D managers, scientists, engineers, in-house IP directors or in-house patent counsels.

We use the diverse backgrounds of our team of patent and design attorneys to deliver highly tailored, client-focused advice and consulting services. Drawing from the team’s extensive pool of knowledge and experience from both legal and business perspectives, it is easier for us to understand what best serves the clients’ interests and needs.

Our partners are recognized experts of the European IP scene and several of our partners are well-recognized lecturers at academic institutions, including the Centre for International Intellectual Property Studies, the European Patent Academy (EPA), the Danish Institute for IP Rights Training and Danish universities. Our partner Mr. Lars Pallisgaard Olsen is a member of a standing panel of expert judges of the Copenhagen Maritime and Commercial High Court.

Our qualified IP coordinators have many years of experience in handling all administrative IP tasks in both patent consulting companies and in patent departments in the industry. Our team of IP coordinators thus has the necessary expertise and experience for you to safely outsource your IP administration to us.

Founded in 2010 by Steen Østergaard and Marc Münzer, Guardian started out as a reflection of their own skills, passion, and aspirations. Specialised in both patens and designs, the two founders believed that ideal IP counselling required a deep understanding the clients’ business, strong IP skills and a desire to create true value for the clients.
